Synopsis

A large part of the population of the countries of sub-Saharan Africa is exposed to the effects of the looting of their natural resources, military conflicts and natural disasters that, together with overpopulation, leads them to extreme poverty.

Every year there is an exodus of thousands of people fleeing situations that threaten their integrity; migrants leave their culture and families behind and embark on a route to Europe trying to achieve a decent life.

During the crossing through the desert and the sea, through dangerous routes, they risk their lives and suffer the consequences of the risks to which they are subjected by the mafias that control human trafficking. Migrants live in extreme conditions, so many of them do not reach their destination and some die on the way before reaching our shores.

This book tells a story that aims to bring the reader closer to the drama these human beings experience every day, inviting them to put themselves in the shoes of Fatou, a young Senegalese who is forced to make this hard journey together with other fellow travelers. each of them has a reason to flee and a story behind it.

The author proposes that, from the other side, the phenomenon of migration in the XNUMXst century can be seen in a different way.
