There is already a winning project for the new Dénia park in Marqués de Campo

The project of the architect Carlos Chacón Pérez has obtained the first prize in the Contest of projects with the intervention of a jury to carry out the works of Plan of uses, urbanization project, landscaping, construction management, health and safety coordination and study of waste management on the site of the old Dénia clinic. Chacón Pérez is an architect from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), a master's degree in gardening and landscaping from the School of Agricultural Engineers of the UPM (2010) and a Master's degree in Advanced Architectural Projects from the UPM ( 2013). His awards for the projects for the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos Vegas Altas de Villanueva de la Serena (Badajoz) in 2008, the School of Music and Dance of Ciutadella (2010) and the public space Parque del Kinder in the Mexican city of Mexicali stand out. .

The jury of the contest has been formed by Vicent Grimalt, mayor of Dénia; Cristina Valls Muñoz, architect and member of the Governing Board of the Territorial College of Architects of Alicante (CTAA); Luis Martínez, architect of the Town Hall of Dénia; Nacho Díez Torrijos, agricultural engineer, graduate in Environmental Sciences and master's degree in landscape architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia; Ignacio Martínez Ridruejo, specialist in landscaping and, as secretary, with voice and without vote, the technical engineer of Public Works of the City Council of Dénia, Daniel Ruiz.

After a first examination of the total of 15 proposals submitted to the call, the jury selected the 5 finalists, which it has evaluated following criteria of environmental, economic and social sustainability, energy efficiency and universal accessibility, until reaching the selection of the three awarded projects. The Governing Board held today has agreed to approve the proposal for the awarding of the prizes and the award of the contract for the drafting and execution of the project based on the decision of the jury, which establishes that, together with the winner of the first prize, a second prize is awarded to the proposal presented by Estudio Hábito SLP and a third prize for Álvaro Mateu Sanchís's project.

The first prize is endowed with 3.000 euros, VAT not included, and the award of the contract to carry out the works of use plan, urbanization project, landscaping, construction management, health and safety coordination and waste management study on the site of the old ambulatory. The winners of the second and third prizes will receive, respectively, 2.000 and 1.000 euros, VAT not included.

The awards ceremony, as well as the exhibition of the three awarded projects by their authors will take place in a ceremony scheduled for December 22, at 19:XNUMX p.m., in the Public Library of Dénia.

On the other hand, from December 22 to January 30, 2022, an exhibition with explanatory panels of the fifteen projects submitted to the contest will be able to be visited at the Casa de la Marquesa Valero de Palma. It will be the first activity to be held in this historic building on Cavallers street after its restoration.
