Dénia Hospital attends to 4 new cases of punctures of chemical submission

The Dénia Hospital Emergency Service attended, during this past night, four new cases of punctures due to chemical submission, which brings to 12, the total number of cases detected in the Marina Alta since last June.

The Head of the Emergency Service, Dr. Antonio Barceló, has pointed out that this type of event is taking place in nightlife and has recommended that anyone who is subject to a puncture "go to any emergency center or if you notice unusual behavior or impaired judgment.

From the hospital they have drawn up a specific action protocol with the aim of unifying criteria. The doctor has highlighted that the most common substances in these cases are hypnotics (sedatives), scopolamine (burundanga) or alcohol.

Regarding the symptoms, Dr. Barceló has clarified that it depends on the amount inoculated, although in general it is dizziness, impaired judgment and, as a serious matter, arrhythmias, depending on the medication that the patient may have.
