The Popular of Denia, with the support of the PPCV, have decided to file an appeal before the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community on the request of the Valencian to the workers of the City Council of Dénia, after dismissing the contentious-administrative Court No. 4 of Alicante the previous appeal.

On April 30 of this year, the contentious-administrative court number 4 of Alicante issued a judgment against the contentious-administrative appeal filed by the Popular Party of Dénia, in which the agreement of the plenary session of the Dénia City Council was challenged on August 29, 2019, which established Valencian as a requirement to access a job in the same City Council.

From the Popular Party, its spokesperson in Dénia, María Mut, declares: “We defend Valencian as our mother tongue and as a co-official language of the Valencian community, but we do not understand that it is wanted to be required as a requirement for access to public function and not as merit, as it has been doing so far. We defend the teaching of Valencian for all civil servants and public employees, as well as for the general public ”.
