Cadeal Motor Club compensates the environmental impact of its last event with a lot of trees for Dénia

25 March 2024 - 14: 05

In an initiative led by the Department of Ecological Transition of the Dénia City Council, a significant step has been taken towards mitigating the environmental impact in local events. The Cadeal Motor Club, organizer of the V Slalom Ciudad de Dénia on March 10, was the first entity to adhere to this new recommendation.

The measure, which seeks to offset greenhouse gas emissions associated with activities such as slalom, urges organizers to contribute to air quality through concrete actions. In this case, the club has donated to the council a varied batch of native plants and trees, including walnut trees, euphorbia, viburnum, strawberry tree, laurels, olive trees, crataegus, carob trees, photinias and prunus laurocerasus.

Councilor Sandra Gertrúdix has expressed her gratitude to the Cadeal Motor Club for leading this pioneering initiative. According to Gertrúdix, the medium-term objective is to turn this recommendation into a regulatory obligation. This measure is part of a joint effort to improve the climatic quality of Dénia, and it is expected that other entities will follow the example set by the automobile club.

    Beautiful initiative, without a doubt.
But now what is our City Council going to do with those little plants?
    Put them in the Glorieta?
Before looking good and trying to make something mandatory, you have to think about the future and plan what and where they are going to be placed.
Planning doesn't suit our councilors and their boss.
