The municipal group of Citizens in Dénia has set a goal: to recover the port for the city. The concilor Sergio Benito states that "the city and its port live on their backs and that is why citizens Dénia has decided to focus its efforts on the issue to change this unfavorable situation ".

That is why the deputies of his formation María José García Tony Woodward and they have requested a meeting with the Director General of Ports of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Domingo, to transfer "the discomfort of the neighbors for their management" and seek solutions.

The biggest problem that Sergio Benito encounters is the lack of transparency and "the lack of sensitivity of the port administration towards the needs of the city and its relationship with it". For dianenses, "the accesses to the port are made through streets whose maintenance is paid exclusively by the neighbors and the maritime facade needs a true remodeling that makes the traffic of vehicles compatible with pedestrian enjoyment".

Citizens proposal goes through a "radical change" on how to manage the port, with a reinvestment of much of the benefits in deficit infrastructure connecting the port with the city, a complete remodeling of the seafront which could include the underground traffic and opening applications port to its neighbors as the dog beach or fishing on the jetties.
