«Brave decisions, those made by a left-wing government»

14 March 2024 - 16: 27

In response to the protests of PP and Vox on the reduction of the 'bous al mar' performances of Festival The Dénia government team has issued this statement:

Some changes are controversial at first, but without them we would not move forward as a society. This is what the Popular Party and Vox do not understand, which, as whenever they can, have taken the opportunity to engage in demagoguery. They have only known about the reduction of the 'bous al mar' program for the next Major Festival.

To progress it is necessary to make decisions, brave ones. Political decisions that are not always to everyone's liking, but that in our case are aimed at creating a more respectful, inclusive and cultural society: a society that evolves with the times.

Indeed, a right-wing government and a left-wing government are very different, luckily! And this government team has a vision that is diametrically opposed to what a government made up of PP and Vox would have regarding partying, culture and, also, commitment to animal welfare.

Supporting the statements issued in the different media of the Fiestas councilor, Raúl García de la Reina, this government team, formed by PSPV y Compromís, has decided to CHANGE (not DELETE), the programming of 'bous al mar' this year. Precisely for festive, cultural reasons and commitment to animal welfare.

It has been a UNANIMOUS decision, taken from responsibility and in accordance with current laws: we must take measures to guarantee the well-being of animals, without excuses. And that means not exposing them, and also the people, to the high temperatures of a July noon in Dénia, in some functions, the morning ones, which were getting less and less in attendance and which unfortunately had already had consequences.

Secondly, the commitment to reduce the number of bulls is the commitment to increase and diversify initiatives and activities aimed at all audiences, structuring the festival throughout the neighborhoods, expanding the shows and giving prominence to what we think is the party and culture in capital letters, for everyone.

For all these reasons, we insist that the Festival does not diminish, but rather grows, as it has been doing for years, with quality musical, theatrical, children's, and dance performances. A Major Festival that reinvents itself and grows, a lot, in the cultural and festive aspects that do not compromise the well-being of people or animals and wants to be respectful of different sensitivities and always adjusted to current legislation.

The lack of transparency that the PP denounces? Difficult to justify when this measure was made public in March and the government provided adequate explanations.

Luckily, a left-wing government, the one elected by the citizens of Dénia, is very different from a right-wing government. And for us the word “change” goes beyond saying something one day and the opposite the next… For us, CHANGE is making brave decisions with which we can move towards a more compassionate and conscious society.

And these were the ones that were forbidden to prohibit. In short, laugh for not crying.

Left-handed Government Summary: It will be like when you drink coffee...but decaffeinated.
    They are that simple.
But the works are not done and are left abandoned like the Marqués del Campo site.

  3. Fortuna says:

How much bullshit do you have to hear from the LEFT?

  4. Jana says:

They just gave me the finishing touch, I'm done voting for the brave left. Those who don't know how to solve what's important in everyday life are brave enough to mess with annual traditions. They have to do something to show that they are receiving a salary.

  5. jot says:

Democracy is asking the people for a vote and the majority decides if there is zero bous bous...

    • Juan says:

But do these opinions, always against each other, make sense?
Of course, common sense is the least common of the senses.
Regrettable opinions, without going beyond absurdity.

  6. Antonio Carmona says:

These are the ones who did not suspend the last mig ay moro, despite the official mourning 10 people died
Now these demagogues, far-left separatists, what do they say about animal welfare???

  7. Claudio says:

But what a stupid decision they made, this had to be suspended, banned forever and ever...

  8. Luis says:

    Left-wing decisions…what nonsense.

    • Eugenio says:

Totally agree . These fanatics try to make ideology out of mere management. Autocrats. You already know the “principles” that the left has… only one: power at all costs

  9. Rudolf says:

Do we pay children to fight in the schoolyard?
A brave decision, from the left and with respect for animal welfare, whether consensual or not, is to SUSPEND the barbarism, reducing it is useless, the animal continues to suffer the same.
    Less demagogy please.

    • Pablo says:

political manipulation to avoid losing votes and putting on a facade because they think we are stupid

      • Julia says:

Excellent decision, a great step towards future abolition.
We will continue to demonstrate against any type of animal abuse.
        PARTY YES, BUT WITHOUT ANIMALS!!
