Within the 2021 call for aid from the Department of Democratic Quality for carrying out actions related to historical memory, the City Council of Dénia has been awarded a grant of € 12.464 for the preparation of a catalog of real estate vestige of the Civil War and a graphic archive of the Republic and the war in the city and the programming of dissemination activities aimed at the general public.
The first of the actions, the preparation of the Civil War real estate catalog, will consist of prior documentation and the creation of descriptive files for each architectural vestige, following the guidelines used for protected assets (each file must contain a descriptive text, location plan of the property, architectural plan and photographic material).
The objective is to catalog 10 heritage assets of this time located at the end of Dénia: the nests of machine guns of Deveses, the carabinieri barracks of l'Almadrava, the machine gun nest of Marines, the shelter-castle (basement corridor north-south and east), the castle (Palace esplanade and eastern battery), the anti-aircraft platforms of the Rotates and the police barracks of les Rotes.
As for the photographic archive of democratic memory, it will include a hundred cataloged snapshots, from the period between 1931 and 1939.
Finally, the dissemination actions are specified in a program of activities that will take place during the months of September and October of this year (conferences and guided visits) and the design of a website with the content of the catalog of goods, photographs and other materials. related to democratic memory.
The total budget for the project amounts to € 16.400.
