23 October 2023 - 12: 59

Denia Festival of the Humanities continues its cycle of parallel activities with great success. Last Saturday, October 21, an Emotional Education Day was held at the Multiespai L'Androna, Baleària Port de Dénia, as part of the Off program of the main event, which will take place from October 26 to 28 in Dénia.

This event was aimed at teachers, guidance staff and families of the Marina Alta, and aimed to highlight the importance of working with students in managing emotions both at school and at home. The day focused on one of the greatest challenges of education in the XNUMXst century: teaching students to be and live together, promoting the identification, expression and management of emotions, as well as the resolution of conflicts through dialogue. In addition, various techniques were explored to learn to relax and values such as respect, empathy and tolerance were promoted, along with the creation of a conscious emotional bond with the teaching team.

The day began at 09:30 a.m. with an opening ceremony that included the participation of the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, and María del Rosario Escrig Llinares, general director of Innovation and Educational Inclusion of the Conselleria d'Educació, Universitats i Ocupació. This opening ceremony was followed by a series of activities, including notable conferences such as The challenge of educating emotions by the psychologist and teacher Eva Solaz, and a talk titled Good children and bad children: the danger of labels in education offered by psychologist Alberto Soler.

In addition, there was a space for dialogue with Eva Solaz and representatives of the Llebeig School of Early Childhood and Primary Education in Dénia, and a presentation on education from the perspective of safety, given by the expert in clinical psychology and teacher Roberto Aguado.

The organization of this first Emotional Education Day, in the context of the Dénia Festival de les Humanitats, was possible thanks to the collaboration of various institutional, educational, social and business entities in the region, which include the Dénia City Council, the CEFIRE of la Nucia, the Foundation Baleària, the Rotary Club of Dénia, Serunion SAU, the Santillana publishing house, the Association of Public School Directors of the Valencià Country, the Raquel Payá Regional Special Education School and the CEIP Llebeig of Dénia.

The parallel activities of the Dénia Festival de les Humanitats continue today, Monday, October 23, with the conference titled The role of literature in the XNUMXst century, by the professor of the University of Alicante, Enric Balaguer, which will take place at 19 p.m. in the municipal library of Dénia.
