Dénia joins 'Impuls a la Dansa', a project that promotes dance throughout the year

Dénia has joined this year the 'Impuls a la Dansa' program, an initiative launched by the Dansa València festival that aims to support the languages ​​of the movement throughout the year. The main purpose of the project, developed in collaboration with the Circuit Cultural Valencià (CCV), is to provide opportunities and resources to local dancers and choreographers, as well as to promote access to dance for all citizens.

'Impuls a la Dansa' consists of two lines of work: the formation of a collective of programmers of municipal performing spaces and the paid stays and mediations of Valencian artists and companies selected through a public call. The program promotes three types of stays: technical, creative and mediation.

In the case of Dénia, the Alicante company Over&Out will work with a group of dance students made up of students from the different schools and academies in the city to promote interaction between students and active teachers.
The mediation activity in Dénia began yesterday, October 18, at the Artísticos facilities, with the participation of students from the Babylon, Cuqui Ivars, Pas de Quatre, Miguel Angel Bolo and Miguel Angel Bolo dance schools. Patricia Sentí.

Choreographic research with the participating students through movement and dramaturgy guidelines, development of group composition and other company techniques will be the axes to enhance the different skills of the dancers in this experience of approaching the professional prism.

The proposal features the participation of Carlos Peñalver, professional dancer, nominated this year in the category of best dancer at the Valencian Performing Arts Awards, and Elvira G. Navas.

This year, in addition to Dénia, the towns of Elche, Villena, El Puig de Santa Maria, Aldaia, Aielo de Malferit, Silla, Almassora and Burriana, as well as the Jaume I University of Castellón, also participate in 'Impuls a la Dansa'.

Regarding the second line of work of the 'Impuls a la Dansa' program, the formation of a group of programmers of municipal performing spaces, it is planned that in the sessions throughout the year, the municipal programmers will visit two reference centers , the Espai LaGranja in Valencia and the CCCE L'Escorxador in Elx, and MIAU - Fanzara, understood as an alternative project for the province of Castellón.

The idea in these training sessions is to bring programmers closer to the reality of choreographic creation that takes place inside and outside our territory and provide them with knowledge so that they can welcome these local creators in their municipalities.
