Dénia's budgets of 74,7 million euros for 2024 come into force tomorrow

After having been subjected to debate and voting last February, the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante publishes today, March 12, the final approval of the budget and staff of the Dénia City Council for 2024. In this way , the general budget of Dénia 2024 amounts to 74,7 million euros and will come into force tomorrow.

The publication becomes effective once the period of public exhibition of the documentation has elapsed without any allegation having been presented. Broadly speaking, this budget highlights an increase of 13,56% in real spending on investments, which rises to 7.275.290,12 euros; a decrease in financial expenses due to the early repayment of loans and an increase in current spending on goods and services of close to 40% due to inflation.

Regarding the income chapter, there is an increase of 10,30% in the expected income from the collection of the Real Estate Tax (IBI), which rises to 25.532.217,72 euros; and a drop of 14,35% in income from the collection of the ICIO (Tax on Constructions, Installations and Works) and 6,19% in capital gains. The budget also includes the provision of a contingency fund of 724.000 euros to meet the payment of previous urban planning rulings.

The main investments planned for this year are the rehabilitation of the Torrecremada building, a work co-financed by the Dénia City Council and the Generalitat Valenciana that is scheduled to be completed this year; the execution of projects selected by citizens in the latest editions of the Participatory Budgets, such as the pedestrian itinerary on the slopes of Montgó; the improvements on the Pou de la Muntanya road; the reform and renovation of playgrounds and the provision of open multi-sports courts in the urban area, or the redevelopment of Elx Street and several streets in the Les Roques neighborhood, among others.
