The archaeological works of Miguel Hernández discover part of the necropolis of Dianium

The archaeological excavations that are being carried out in two lots adjacent to Miguel Hernández Avenue have brought to light new structures belonging to large Roman port buildings. (Horrea) and stores the first century AD linked to the activity of the ancient port city.

The excavated area, about 3.200 square meters, has brought to light are also ten underground tombs of the I and III centuries as part of the necropolis of Dianium already documented four years ago.

The director of the excavation, Silvia Ruíz, has reported the appearance of important ceramic and numismatic findings as well as an important epigraphic funerary inscription on marble Buixcarró support.
