Matria presents its 25N program but urges to deseasonalize the fight for equality

The Matria association has announced a series of events in commemoration of November 25, International Day against Gender Violence. Highlighting within her program the participation of the filmmaker Mabel Lozano, on Sunday the 19th at 19:00 p.m. at the Social Center, where she will present her latest documentary, Ava, accompanied by its docuseries Pornoxploitation, followed by a debate. The next day, November 20, the program will be screened for the city's students. TikTokTreats, addressing the relationship of social networks with human trafficking for sexual exploitation, also followed by a debate.

In addition, on Friday the 24th in the morning, Matria will carry out its traditional vaccination campaign on La Vía Street. The initiative aims to encourage citizens' commitment to violence-free relationships, symbolically represented in traffic light bracelets that will be distributed during the activity.

Deseasonalize the fight

Along with its program, Matria has taken the opportunity to share a reflection on the importance of extending the fight for gender equality beyond specific events, such as the events of March 8 or specific events. They highlight the need to maintain a constant commitment throughout the year to address critical issues such as the wage gap, women's access to management positions, work-life balance, among others.

Matria emphasizes that these issues, although largely dependent on political decisions, require periodic reminders to ensure their effective implementation. In addition, they emphasize the importance of maintaining attention on the eradication of gender violence and actively contributing to education based on values ​​of respect for women and coexistence.
