Turning one decade well deserves a celebration. Two years after the ninth edition was held, next Tuesday, April 5, the Dénia Municipal Market will host the celebration of the X International Creative Cooking Contest of the Red Shrimp of Dénia, an event organized by the Association of Hospitality Entrepreneurs and Tourism of the Marina Alta (AEHTMA), in collaboration with the Dénia City Council.
The registration period to participate in this edition will remain open from February 17 to March 17 at 14:XNUMX p.m. Professional chefs linked to a hotel business or a gastronomy training center who wish to participate may complete a form electronically during this period in the official website of the contest, where they must present their culinary proposals around the fetish product of the Marina region, the red prawn, which must be the main raw material for their preparations.
After the closing of the inscriptions, a prejury will select the eight best recipes, which will be the ones that will be cooked live in the Municipal Market of Dénia. Their names will be announced on Monday, March 21.
On Tuesday, April 5, the finalists will submit to the decision of the members of the jury, made up of culinary experts, chefs and food critics, who will evaluate the creations according to the presentation, taste and importance of the red shrimp in each plate, proclaiming the winner of the contest.
The winner will receive a check for €2.500, while the second and third place winners will receive a prize of €1.500 and €1.000 respectively. In addition, they will receive a sculpture by Toni Marí.
Since its first edition, in March 2012, the Dénia Red Shrimp International Creative Cuisine Contest has received more than 70 national and international chefs and has become a benchmark event for professionals and lovers of gastronomy, and especially of the Dénia red prawn.
