This Friday a press conference took place at the Dénia City Hall for the presentation of the Spring 2024 Edition of Dénia Festival of the Humanities. They attended the event Vicent Grimalt, mayor of Dénia and president of the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation; Joseph Ramoneda, academic director of Dénia Festival de les Humanitats and, Benito Mestre, president of the Business Cercle of the Marina Alta (CEDMA) and patron of the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation.
The Spring Edition will take place on April 10 and 11 under the motto "create, think, imagine and live together." The event will feature two debate sessions and different presentations by well-known national and international figures, explained Josep Ramoneda.
The director of the festival has reported that the objective is "to raise questions that may arise about the human condition." On this occasion, aging will be reflected on in two sessions: "A scientific/sociological approach to longevity", led by experts María Ángeles Durán, Josefa Ros and Antonio Ariño; The second will be "Living and living with aging", a presentation by Xita Rubert, Norbert Bilbeny, Josep Ramoneda.
On the other hand, Ramoneda has stated that the presentation of the monographic issue of Portbou's Suitcase dedicated to the second Dénia Festival de les Humanitats.
"The habit of thinking creates addiction," said Grimalt, who has reported that the Third Edition of the Dénia Festival de les Humanitats will take place in October and will revolve around the limitations posed by the world.
Josep Ramoneda has explained that the purpose is to reflect on the limits of knowledge of science, of the human body, of literature... in an environment where it is "difficult to understand matters that sometimes move at very accelerated speed."
Reflections from the economic world
In addition, Benito Mestre explained that a presentation of the collection will take place at the Lluís Vives Space. This 2024, the president of CEDMA explains that the central theme of businessmen's reflections will be "what a company has to do to be good" and will be held in May.
Other related activities
The mayor of Dénia has highlighted the prominence of the educational world and that it has served to consolidate five thematic spaces where activities are carried out throughout the academic year. The first, the Art Space, consolidated by the Polytechnic University of Valencia, which will bring two exhibitions to the city in September of the artistic perspective on sustainability.
In May, a UNED seminar will take place as a Space for Politics and Citizenship and a course in the Space for Social Sciences run by the University of Valencia.
In addition, an Emotional Education Space will be held, coordinated by Dianense educational centers, such as the María Ibars Institute, which will celebrate the Second Emotional Education Day in October.
And on the other hand, a Humanities Space will be held by the University of Alicante, with a seminar for the month of June.
