Dénia celebrates International Sports Day with a multitude of sports activities from some educational centers that have taken place in some of the municipal facilities. In commemoration of Sports Day, which is celebrated on March 26, several educational centers in Dénia coordinated with the Sports Department of the City Council, to celebrate days full of sports activities. This initiative has had the main objective of highlighting the fundamental values of sport and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among young people, as commented Valen Alcala, the Sports Councilor. For two consecutive days, the students of the different educational centers in Dénia have participated in a wide variety of sports activities, both within their facilities and in the municipal sports spaces.
Yesterday, March 26, the Marist School organized some exciting Olympics on the Athletics track, where primary and secondary students represented in various towns in the region. Marina Alta in some Minigames.
In addition, athletics, billiards, indoor soccer, Valencian pilota, throwing, marksmanship, adapted sports and basketball tests were carried out, among other activities, thus demonstrating its commitment to promoting physical activity and sportsmanship. The Councilor for Sports, Valentín Alcalá, inaugurated the day yesterday, making himself available to the centers to collaborate in initiatives like these that "make visible the importance of sport as a physical and mental transformative tool, and promote positive values among young people."
Today it was the turn of the CEIP Cervantes, which continued the celebrations at the Rodat football field and at the Municipal Sports Center facilities, with a wide range of activities in which more than 600 girls and boys participated.
The final touch of these festivities took place today at the facilities of the Colegio Paidos. During the closing of these two days, Valen Alcalà was also present, who praised the center's initiative and highlighted that "as a whole, these sports days have not only been a celebration of physical activity, but also an example of collaboration." and commitment to promoting health and the positive values that sport can contribute to society.
