The Dénia Básquet cadets achieve victory

26 March 2024 - 16: 19

Last weekend, various basketball games were played in which the victory of the DBC male and female cadets stood out.

Preferred Female Cadet: ASTEL San Gabriel 59 - 73 DBC 08

Victory suffered by the 2008 cadets on the San Gabriel court, in a match in which it was difficult to find the usual rhythm of the game.

They did not come out with the proper intensity from the beginning and the locals took advantage by taking the lead at the end of the first period (18-10). The defense was not effective and in attack they did not play collectively, so, although there was time, they had a lot to improve to enter the game.

In the second period they were not able to link good actions either. It was difficult to run in transition and the defense, although it improved, did not reach a sufficient level to prevent the locals from continuing to score points on a regular basis.

Thus they reached the break with a six-point disadvantage and the need to change things in the second twenty minutes of the match (32-26).

They increased the defensive intensity and in attack the ball circulated with greater speed, achieving better shooting options with which they caught up in just three minutes of play.

However, they once again suffered from a lack of continuity in their actions and the Alicante team regained control of the situation, closing the third quarter with a seven-point advantage (49-42). It was time to bring out the character, which was the trigger for a great reaction in the last ten minutes of the match.

The last period was totally different from everything experienced up to that moment. With a suffocating defense throughout the court, they began to recover possessions and quickly go on the counterattack, imposing a high pace of play that San Gabriel could not adapt to.

Even though they were suffering, the team, which once again had the reinforcement of two Children's players, managed to keep alive its chances of reaching the playoffs for the title in the last days of this second phase of the competition.

Preferred Male Cadet: ADESAVI 60 - 81 DBC 08

Triumph for the 2008 cadet boys in their trip to San Vicent del Raspeig to face Adesavi, a team that, although it is at the bottom of the standings, had surpassed the Dianenses in the first round.

The players came out focused and with very clear ideas about what they had to do. A very good defense and high effectiveness in front of the rival goal allowed them to go 0 to 14 in the first 5 minutes.

With their rivals already in the game, they managed to maintain the difference they had achieved, closing the first quarter with a clear advantage (8-24).

In the second they lowered the level of intensity somewhat, which the home team took advantage of to get fully into the game and turn the score around, putting themselves two points ahead. The team saved the situation, taking the lead at halftime (33-37).

Pascual Miralles asked his players for maximum concentration and after the match resumed they returned to the same rhythm as the start.

A high intensity in defense, without allowing a single comfortable shot to the hosts, and the speed in the attack game allowed them to open an already insurmountable distance for the rivals at the end of the third period (47-65).

In the last period, ADESAVI came out ready to try to recover the disadvantage, but the Dianenses knew how to stay firm in the game to also win this quarter and widen the final difference.

Preferred Female Children: CB TEIXERETA 52 - 53 DBC 10

An important victory was achieved by the 2010 girls during their visit to Ibi, in a match in which the dominant note was the atmosphere experienced throughout the match.

Unfortunately, as the minutes passed, the tension increased and with it the bad decisions of both teams and the referees.

Faced with this situation, the players knew how to be more calm and controlled in the crucial moments of the match, winning different sets and achieving, when push came to shove, a ten-point advantage that would allow them to play the most intense moments of the match with more comfort.

During the last minutes the game became a mess, with chained failures on the part of both teams, and in the end the winner ended up defending a little better.

Despite playing a game to the limit, the team knew how to use resources when they were needed most to carry out a difficult match and thus remain at the top of the table.

Children's Male 1st ZONAL: DBC 10. 61 - 68 CDSP Moixent

The 2010 boys fell to Joan Fuster in an even match against Moixent, a direct rival in the fight for first place in the group, although they were able to save the average to remain first in the standings.

A bad start, on the part without due intensity (5-18), meant that they spent the entire game trailing the rival team, causing us considerable physical and emotional wear.

From the second period onwards they began to enter the game, increasing their defensive performance and being able to run transitions. As a result of that work, they began to come back, reaching halftime with the difference reduced to two points (33-35).

Having done the most difficult thing, they just needed to maintain the tone to continue competing against a rival who demanded they give their best.

Rubén Velázquez's team did so and with a run of 12-7 in the fifth and 6-5 in the sixth, they managed to turn the situation around and take the lead on the scoreboard for the first time.

But in the seventh period the Valencians returned to the fray and managed to put doubts back in, leading them again on the scoreboard (55-63), putting them in a difficult situation heading into the final period.

As time progressed, seeing how confidently the rivals were playing - which gave no option for the Dianenses to surpass them again - it became essential to protect the point difference gained in the first leg to secure first place in the standings.

The objective was not to be beaten by more than ten points and, suffering, the team knew how to do everything in the final stretch of the game to achieve it.
